Las Vegas (USA), April 24th, 2017 – TeamCast, the world-renowned leader in digital modulation technologies for Satellite Applications, Wireless Transmission and Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is giving two presentations about the new ATSC3.0 standard at NAB show 2017.
The first one is given by Gérard FARIA, and is explaining the Single Frequency Networks and how they can increase further the efficiency of ATSC3.0 broadcast infrastructures.
“The resistance of the C-OFDM to the echoes characterizing terrestrial transmissions, prompted the broadcasters to improve the efficiency of their broadcast infrastructure by using multiple transmitters – being each a perfect, but artificial, echo of each other – to operate single-frequency network (SFN) broadcast. Our contribution to the NAB’s conference will present the fundamentals of the C-OFDM and our in-house designed ATSC3.0 calculator to illustrate the opportunities provided by the SFN to increase the efficiency of the ATSC3.0 broadcast infrastructures” says Gérard FARIA, CTO of TeamCast.
Gérard will present at the Session covering ATSC3.0, on the 23rd April 2017 at 3.30pm.
The second paper is jointly presented by Joseph Turbolski, Director Sales Operations at Hitachi Kokusai Electric Comark and Eric PINSON, Sales Director at TeamCast and is explaining how smart digital signal processing can facilitate the use of the very sharp channel filters required to meet the new requirements of the spectrum repack.
“The purpose of this paper is to present the requirements of adjacent channel filtering/combining in both ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 that will affect many DTV transmitters after the FCC repack. We will present the latest state-of-the-art RF Mask filter designed by Dielectric. Then, new Digital Linear Pre-correction techniques, especially designed by TeamCast to compensate such “Very-Sharp Tuned” filters will be explained. Finally, a comprehensive report and test results performed by Comark, TeamCast and Dielectric will conclude this presentation” says Eric Pinson, Sales @ Communications Manager at TeamCast.
The paper will be delivered during the RF Boot Camp Session, on the 25th April 2017 at 3.00pm.
