Rennes (France), September 10, 2018TeamCast, the world-renowned leader in digital modulation technologies for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), Wireless Transmission and Satellite Applications, announces TWISTER DAB, a new exciter for upgrading DAB transmitters.

Specifically designed to meet Broadcasters’ wishes to invest in DAB transmitters or to upgrade existing unused VHF transmitters, the ready-to-use TWISTER-DAB rack exciter enables an effortless and cost effective transition when switching from Analogue FM to Digital DAB broadcast.

TWISTER DAB has been developed as an innovative solution for the digital radio exciter market, bringing several key features to ease integration within the transmitter design and to achieve top of the class RF performance. These features include a state-of-the-art Digital Adaptive Pre-correction mechanism, an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) process to ensure the correct output power stability, and the monitoring of key transmitting power figures such as Forward Transmitted Power and Reflected Power levels.

“Twister DAB is definitely a wellborn member of TeamCast’s smart exciter family. Besides offering the proven modulation performance and the wide range of signal feeds of previous TeamCast’s DAB modulators, it also offers the specific features for upgrading existing transmitters through a complete functional integration, as do other Digital TV exciters from TeamCast for DVB-T/T2 and ATSC1.0/3.0 transmitters” says Eric Pinson, Head of the Terrestrial Business Unit at TeamCast.

“Expected benefits for the operators are: better use of existing infrastructures, higher RF performance, lower energy consumption, straightforward upgrade process” he adds.
