Description

The TSE-1000 implements a cost effective and highly integrated process which is designed to transport one or more SFN-TS1 streams transparently over distribution networks. In a terrestrial Digital TV Single Frequency Network (SFN) implementation, the multiplex transport stream (MPEG-TS) contains critical information after it is rate adjusted and time stamped at the head-end. To ensure correct SFN operation, this MPEG-TS signal must therefore not be corrupted or modified during its transport over the distribution network which is usually implemented with individual radio links, satellite feeds or optical fibre connections. Additionally, broadcasters and Telco’s need to maximize their return on investment in the network infrastructure, and this can be achieved by combining several MPEG-TS streams for transport on the same network, or by sharing the same telecoms resources for the distribution of different digital broadcast applications. A practical example of such an economy would be if several SFN-TS dedicated to Mobile TV services could be reliably inserted into an existing satellite DTH transponder to achieve a cost effective solution for feeding terrestrial transmitters!
