Welcome to the DVB-H Workshop: "DVB-H for TV on Mobiles".
During the Set’05 exhibition and conference organised last September in Sao Paulo (Brasil), one of the main centre of interest was the DVB-T & DVB-H topic. TeamCast delivered a one hour technical seminar devoted to DVB-H covering the various challenges bring to the broadcast actors to deliver “TV on Mobile” services. Following a tutorial on the COFDM basics, an overview of the DVB-H technical features as their implications on spectrum issues are discussed.

Welcome to the Mobile Broadcast Tutorial.
"Mobile TV Tutorial" has been organised during the last IBC'05 and, for its introduction, TeamCast presented the various challenges to take in order to provide "TV on Mobile" services. The main topics covered within this presentation were:
- Competition between Telcos & Broadcast technologies,
- Challenge of integration in small tiny Handheld terminal,
- Challenge of power consumption reduction,
- Challenge for network coverage (indoor / Mobile)
- Challenge for Mobile reception performance,
- Tutorial on the COFDM signal variants implemented in DVB-H / T-DMB / Flo,
- Challenge to access spectrum.

Following a presentation of the technical challenges and the applications addressed by DVB-H, this presentation explains the Doppler effect affecting reception in motion and reports extensively on the validation exercise performed by the DVB-H Validation Task Force (chaired by TeamCast) in the last quarter 2004.

Developed for  technical training to 3G Cellular System Designers, this presentation presents the works performed since 1998 on the DVB-T transmission technology which drove the inception of the DVB-H standard. The detailed justification of the DVB-H technical features is presented, via the test-bed and the results obtained by the DVB-H Validation Task Force (chaired by TeamCast).

DVB-H Validation Task Force Report
Final Report and Presentation resulting from the DVB-H Validation Task Force work co-ordinated by TeamCast. These documents have been presented to the DVB Technical Module during its 59° session in January 2005. The DVB forum endorsed the work and published the report in February 2005. The VTF report has been published by the European Standard Telecom Institute as document TR 102 401 in April 2005.

Teamcast is a recognized expert in the domains of Digital Radio, Digital TV and COFDM modulation, thanks to the cumulated expertise of its three founders ( Jean-Luc Pavy , Gerard Faria , Eric Spampinato ), and made significant contributions to the standardisation of the mobile handheld TV technology. TeamCast is a member of the DVB forum and the Flo Forum.
