TeamCast is an active member

of several European, National and Regional collaborative research projects, side by side with other key industrial and research players.

 

ETNA

The ETNA project (2013-2010 - Enhanced wireless Technologies for News and Security Applications) aims at defining and developing an optimized system for wireless video links for applications in the Electronic News Gathering and Security sectors.

 M3

M3 (2013-2010 - Mobile Multi-Media) is an ANR's VERSO programme. This project focuses on the harmonisation of broadcast & broadband signsl to provide universal Mobile Multi Media service which could be carried either on broadcast or mobile networks, whilst using the same multi-freuqenc-band demodulator chipset.

 ENGINES

ENGINES (2012-2010- EUREKA CELTIC program) is aiming to develop the Next Generation Broadcasting standards and their implementation for Fixed, Portable, Mobile and Handheld reception. But also to perform the in-depth validation of the DVB-T2 standard which has been one of the main outcomes of the original B21C project.

 SVC4QoE

SCV4QoE (2011-2009 - SVC for QoE) illustrates the interest of the association of two technologies: SVC (Scalable Video Coding) and QoE (Quality of experience), to measure the quality of images perceived( by the user in situation image disturbed. Coordinated by TeamCast, this project involves 9 partners.

 SME 42

SME 42 (2010-2008 - SME for T2) is part of the Eurostars Programme dedicated to DVB-T2, has been working on optimising the implementation of functions at the very heart of DVB-T2 – the modulator and the demodulator.  Coordinated by TeamCast, this project involves SIDSA, TeamCast and Telecom Bretagne.

 B21 C

B21 C (2009-2007 - Broadcast for the 21st Century) is a collaborative project which involved 35 partners1 (industrial and academic organisations, and network operators) from nine countries2, has contributed significantly to the development and validation of the broadcasting standards for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and Mobile Television.  These standards, initiated by the European industry forum ‘Digital Video Broadcasting’, include DVB-H, DVB-SH and the DVB-T2 specification for second generation DTT.

 And also, TeamCast participated and coordinated:

  • TVMSL (2010-2006) development of an hybrid satellite-terrestrial mobile TV system), led by Alcatel-Lucent,
  • OPUS (2007-2006) development of a test platform for next evolution of UMTS),
  • Wing TV (2006-2005) validation of the DVB-H standard,

TeamCast is a member of the Briton competitiveness cluster "Media & Networks" and is participating in several projects labelled by the cluster.

TeamCast is also actively contributing to the standardisation of digital TV systems, through its participation in the technical work groups of the DVB and FLO forums.
